I purchased a car stereo amplifier from etronics.com with next day delivery. However, after I had it installed at a Rockford Fosgate authorized dealer and installer, we found out that the amplifier was defective. My heart sank to my stomach because I was advised previously by the dealer not to buy this merchandise from an un-authorized dealer. They felt the discount price etronics offered, suggested that it was probably
used or refurbished. I brought this to etronic's attention and was
guaranteed that all merchandise are brand new. How could a brand new top of the line ampllifier not work at all? I immediately contacted etronics and was told to expect an e-mail with instructions. Today, I read the e-mail which included a Return Authorization#, instuctions, and their address. After reading the instructions, I realized that maybe, I should have listened to the dealer initially. Now, this is what disappoints me the most about dealing with etronics:
- They shipped me a defective Rockford Fosgate car stereo amplifier
- I paid the installer $95.00 for parts and labor for an amplifier that
ended up being defective
- I paid the installer another $45 to re-install my old amplifier
- I spent 4 hours of my time waiting to get this defective unit installed
- I spent another 2 hours waiting to re-install my old amplifier
- I lost the $45 that I paid you for shipping Next day Air
- I now have to pay another $20 or more for the return shipment
- etronics eill charge up to 15% for the re-stocking fee ($38.00 based on
the price of the amplifier)
- If you add everything up, I wasted 6 hours of my time away from work
and almost $250 because of this initial amplifier that cost only $259.99.
- I still don't have the amplifier upgrade that I wanted
- I couldn't even get the common courtesy of a pre-paid return shipment
